Clutch Question

Traded an old generator and 50 bux for a 1994 Blaster. 2 problems I need to take care of - 1. Carb leaking, float needle valve & seat need to be replaced 2. Clutch not working. Took clutch apart, removed metal and fiber clutch plates and am wanting to know if the CLUTCH BOSS is supposed to spin freely and separately from the CLUTCH HOUSING.
Thanx

Next question---I got PUSHROD#1(threaded)and the BALL out but can't get PUSHROD#2 to come out. I tried tipping the Blaster on it's side but it won't come out. How do you get it out?

Everybody love a comedian(blaaster)LOL----I have a coat hanger and a magnet what next? How do I use the the coat hanger and magnet to get pushrod#2 out.

Do the pushrods bend very easy. Could that be why it's stuck and I have no clutch plate movement when I move the clutch push lever or pull in the clutch lever on the handlebars.

Not really seen a bent one, usually just welds it's self to the ball but that came out right!

If ya didn't get my Pm as I was on my phone( hate being on that with the forum).

The alternative way that worked for me was to remove the cable from the clutch arm on the motor tip the quad on it's side and rotate the lever, mine fell right out! helps to have an extra hand!

Got your PM. cable is off and I pulled out the clutch push lever. poked around in the push lever hole still nothing. put the push lever back in and turned it with a piece of wire butted against stuck pushrod #2 still no movement of the wire.

Gonna try blowing the pushrod out with my compressor. If that doesn't work I'll probably just part the thing out.

I have no clutch. No plate seperation when I pull in the clutch lever on the handlebars. no movement at all. even when it's all assembled. i have no movement of the pushrods or plates or anything. nothing moves at all. it's like the pushrod is missing but i know it's not cause i can stick a wire in the pushrod hole and it only goes in about 2 inches and I can see that buger in there with a flashlight.

And it won't let you push the rod back? and it won't come out? Well, it had to be farther back if you were able to disassemble the clutch and get the bearing out! Is the hanger straight?

the clutch basket and the clutch boss are still attached. all i took off was the pressure plate and the clutch plates

I meant to say the ball bearing.... take the pressure plate with the threaded rod attached and see if you can push the second rod back, but first put the arm back into the motor. If it does go back, put a dab of lithium grease on BB If it wont go, only thing i suggest is to remove the motor lay it on it's side and try to get that rod out.

I hope ya get it out, I'm out for the evening, Good luck!

i think the end of the pushrod is mushroomed. i beat it back in and moved it out a little with the push lever a few times and there seems to be a bit of movement. i'll keep beating it in and pushing it out and see if it loosens up more.
thanks for the help.

That does not sound good!

If I pull the clutch basket off would that get me any closer to the end of pushrod#2. I thinkin maybe if i can push it out some the end will stick out of case a little and I might be able to latch on to it and pull it out. Don't care if I destroy the pushrod cause I will need a new one any way. Any way to make a clutch holder tool so I can pull the basket this weekend?
