Clutch issues

Ok, long story short, I went ahead with replacing my crank seal due to it revving out at idle after it was warm and milky crankcase oil.

I broke the inner hub in the process so I bought a new one to replace it. This meant taking the clutch plates out. I got it all back together, adjusted the rod accordingly.

I have the quad up on jackstands. When in gear with the clutch pulled in the motor is still engaged. I can see the pressure plate moving out and the friction plates loosen at that time. What did I miss? thanks

I've never messed with a Blaster clutch, but on a banshee there is a tiny ball bearing like the size of a marble that goes behind the clutch in the case that a rod pushes on to disengage the clutch. That's something easy to forget about.

ball bearing is in there. The pressure plate moves off the friction plates but the motor stays engaged when I try to move the rear wheels. Also the clutch lever on the left side was aligned while adjusting the push rod.

should it spin as free as can be with the clutch pulled or should there be a little bit of friction? I poured a little oil on the plates with the clutch pulled and got some oil in them. It still seems like there's too much friction. I really have to jerk the rear wheels hard to get the metal plates to spin inside the friction plates. Maybe the pushrod needs to be adjusted out farther?

edit: this was the clutch pack that was in it already.

yeah, i think thye could have dried up wnough to give you problems. if its not too much of a pain in the arse you could take the plates back off and soak em overnight . then go from there.

thats just from the clutch plates sticking together from the oil thats fine..
put the machine on the ground and kick it over a few time with the clutch pulled in and i bet it fixes the problem

Cool. I'm still going to pull the pack and soak them to be sure. I don't want to have to pull the side off again because I didn't do something right.
