alright guys 2 problems..... FIRST

put a new clutch cable on today since old one snapped, it seems to be a hair to long, it pulls the clutch arm all the way to where i cant push it anymore, but when i shift into gear it jerks forward and as i hold in the clutch it still keeps moving, if i rev it up fast then it lets off and stops, any ideas what to do????

SECOND....

when i turn in 2nd or 3rd and then stomp on it as im still turning you can hear a grinding noise i think thats coming from the gears.... not positive what it is, it doesnt do it while im going strait, but when im turning it does it, but only when i smash the throttle, im thinking something is sliding around in the gears??????

NEED HELP FOR BOTH PROBLEMS
THANKS!!!!!! I:I

1) Is the clutch cable adjusted properly at the lever? The cable stretches over time so it needs to be adjusted, I had to adjust mine this weekend because it was acting how you described.

2) This is a long shot, but with your handlebars cranked does the clutch arm on the engine move? I ask this because a friend of mine had a dirt bike where the throttle cable would get "pinched" when he would crank the handlebars which in turn caused the throttle to get stuck wide open.

Just some ideas.?

no i never took anything apart in the clutch, i adjusted the cable and now the clutch slips when i hit the throttle, stays at the same speed all through the throttle, now its to tight... what to do now!?

Then it is adjusted too far. It IS normal for the bike to "jump" a little when you put it into gear. Everything that I have ridden does it to a certain extent. Some people like the clutch to be fully pulled when the clutch lever it only partly pulled, others like it to not be fully pulled till the lever is fully pulled against the grips. So the adjustment is really only for fine tuning. If anything I said actually makes sense haha..?

yea makes sence lol, i liked it before when it let out about in the middle of the lever, but how do adjust it again???? my dad adjusted it this morning with his buddie cause they were bored lol, he doesnt get home til midnight, guess ill have to ask him since he did it haha, i have no clue about clutches

its like a bicycle brake lever. unscrew the big circle then adjust the smaller screw

Yup. It will look like this, just on the clutch side.

loosen the bigger diameter one, screw the smaller diameter on in or out (whichever you need), and tighten the big one when it is where you want it.

I would just try to mess with it for a while and see if you can get it where you want it. If that doesn't work the only thing I could think of is the cable must be the wrong length.

Nice. My friend and I are gonna try to make it to a track sometime this summer, if we do I'll put up a thing in the trails section, and let everyone know.
