choke trouble

i can start it only in full or half choke when i turn the choke off it stalls out its a 1990 blaster bord .80 over any help would be great
 
Needing the choke to start is normal. In cold weather you will need it until the engine is fairly warm, like when you touch the head with your hand and can't leave it there. If this continues after warm-up, you should probably clean the carb.

The choke circuit on these carbs is actually a fuel enrichmnet device that adds more fuel to the nornal idle. This doesn't use a jet, just a passage. So if it is dying while warm and the choke is closed, look at the pilot jet specifically. It has a very tiny hole (gets plugged easily) that you should be able to see through when held up to the light.
 
pull the carb, then the bowl, remove the white plastic splash gaurd, you'll see the main hex shaped jet, remove it with a 6mm socket, down in the hole right beside that is the pilot jet, it requires a very small straight screwdriver to remove it
clean everything out with carb cleaner, blow out with compressed air, reassemble and ride
