um good fun. i would recomend that you take the plastic stator cover off. its a +3 phillips head. then loosen the sprocket bolts and try and get the sprocket off. if not, then it is going to be more work. you going to have to find a way fo force it out. when that happened to me it ended up cracking my case.
if it broke while riding make sure to check the chain guide back by the swing arm and the chain rollers along the way, when my chain broke grabbin 4th gear it demolished the chain guide and rollers. sounds like nothing but left unfixed it would probably destroy every chain put on afterwords maybe even cause it to catch and cause serious injury
yes that and the little rollers .before i noticed mine were messed up the roller was gone and the chain had cut into the bolt thing that the roller sits on. the plastic peice was snapped. luckily i got a backyard mechanic buddy thats happy to teach me about caring for it and working on it since its also my first atv. not to mention getting to rip on it after bolting on all this extra stuff and fixing all the things that are wrong with it.
now that i think of it, while i was painting i noticed a shaft type thing that looks like a chain guide roller location. it never had one when i got it. and it hasnt eaten into it. whats the deal?
maybe mine just took the brunt of the damage when the chain snapped so it looked like it was eating through it. either way it made me hella paranoid and alot more cautious
edit it was up a little higher than the chain usually is now that i think of it so when the chain snapped it may have just whipped upward and took a gash out of it
