ok so i just put my renthal sprockets on..and bought those clips that go over the rear nuts..how do you tighten them without annihilating your sprocket?

im refering to those silver things..they are the locking mechanism and i tried prying one of them with a pair of needlenose and it was just digging into my $55 sprocket X(

help?

yea i was trying to bend them but they are harder to bend than you think..just trying to make sure there isnt a correct way that im not seeing and im screwing up my sprocket

anytime i do those type of bend over locking type washers,i just get a flat screwdriver started under them and lightly tap it up with a small hammer, you can also get them started bending a little before you put them on, and yeah its prolly gonna mark up that pretty sprocket, is that aluminum???, shoulda bought steel ones!!!!
i never had much faith in aluminum sprockets, but you'll never see the marks on it while blasting thru the trails at 40 mph
and wheres your brakes, i dont see a caliper in the pic???

yea im just gonna angle a screwdriver i guess, awk: i bought the renthal sprockets, didnt pay attn to what the material was to be honest, and my caliper is being worked on aka i cant get the damn pads out of it lol.

as for the few that said "get rid of them blah blah" no, i just bought brand new clips so im using them lol

its a locking mechanism, the vibes and rotation can cause the nuts to back off and bye bye sprocket.
guys this stuff is here for a reason lol they didnt just go hmm lets put a few useless things (besides tors) onto this quad that we dont need!
