I just swaped out my 13 tooth front sprocket for a 14 tooth with a new chain, a banshe o ring 520 chain, and the chain now hits the case. Any ideas? Should i go back to a non o ring chain.

I'm not sure why a 14 tooth and o-ring chain would force it into the cases there.... Should fit easily.

To quickly remedy the situation you can flip the primary sprocket around the other way ("step" out) so move the chain farther out. It's not exactly the correct way to run it (the front and rear sprocket will be offset ever so much) but it will move the chain out far enough to clear.

it's not the chain, i've run o-ring and non o-ring with no problems
possibly that sprocket ?
that offset looks quite deep compared to the new 13t i just installed wednesday.
what brand is it ??
possible to grind that down ? which will pull the sprocket out further

notice how shallow this offset is compared to yours ?

Took the 14 tooth sprocket off and it looks like it is larger, arrows, than the 13 tooth. What do you guys think?

why do you want a 14t anyway, and do you have the motor to pull that gearing ?

grind that lip down almost flat (and even) to pull the gear out further when bolted on, it definately appears to be deeper, which is pushing it back further when bolted on

Yes agree sprocket, I too run an 520 oring have always and am able to fit a case saver in there! MY 14t isn't nothing like that deep looks like awks!

The 13 t has a JT stamped on it.
I think I'm going to order a new 14t. This time ill go through Vitos, any opinions?
AWK- Im running a Flotek port with a power pro exhaust, 34 PJ with spacer, weisco .05 piston. Before I head to Glamis this season Ill be adding VF3 reeds.

the sprocket i just installed was a JT from laclare powersports on ebay, and i can assure you that lip isn't as deep as the 14t you have pictured,
and that motor will definately pull that gearing

The sprocket is going to be larger in diameter as they have to cram another tooth in there.

I have seen a lot of sprockets in my time and that one just looks wrong for a Blaster, there is far too much shoulder on there it will push the teeth a lot closer to the case.

Maybe a grind back as advised will allow the sprocket to sit closer to the end of the spline, but make sure it is flat and not angled as the retainer may work loose.

Damn, I have the same sprocket for the front, Primary, I hope I dont run into the same problem, anyone else out there running a Primary 14T front sprocket?

Tango I just installed the same exact sprocket 14T on mine yesterday and its not touching the case, I have the same chain to but I decided to run the non- oring based on the guys recommendations on here, what year is your Blaster?

I've run o-ring and non o-ring on 14tooth front sprockets in the correct orientation and not had any issues (can't say that for 15tooth!). I'm guessing that's the incorrect spacing sprocket.

Got the new 14t in over the weekend and same problem. I think it's the chain. Ordered a new non o ring. So if anyone is looking for a oring chain ill give you a good deal.
