i have a vito's 240 bbk, i am wanting to get a new piston kit, which of the above is better and why?

thanks.

I personally like a forged piston over cast.I would shoot for a forged wiseco piston fot that vitos cylinder.

Well from all my research I've heard both sides of the story. I don't know if one would out perform the other there's both sides to the debate most people are pro forged on the debate tho. we have a member joe eak who is very knowledgeable he likes cast you can read his write ups if u would like.

To me tho it boils down to how the position life ends.

A cast will cause more damage to a cylinder if it blows up ( from what I have read anyways I have had my blaster 2 years never delt with this issue)

That's why I'm going for forged on my upcoming rebuild.

goth are good but i perfer forged because it it blows up again i dont want 50 billion pieces of alluminum going down into the bottomend and getting wedged in between the crank and cases and busting a hole in it or cracking it

That's a good enough reason for me, thanks.

is that just your preference or is there other reasons i should use a forged?

Everyone has there preference.I as well as the majority will say forged piston. There are only a few that will reccomend a cast piston.A cast piston will require less cylinder to piston clearance where as a forged piston can have a bit more cylinder to piston clearance.

Here are a few pics of a cast and forged piston being crushed in a 60 ton press. You can see exactly why most will never touch a cast piston.
