so my 05 blaster that I just got needed new carrier bearings, I i've gotten the things almost all the way apart, and I can't get the axle all the way out of the carrier. The bearings were DESTROYED on the sprocket side. I was able to get that bearing out easily. The bearing on the rotor side is still in place.
It seems like the spacer between the bearings in the carrier is the sticking point, should that slide out over the axle at this point? It has moved...
Is there a walk through on here? I found a couple threads that touch on the subject but nothing in depth...X(

try holding the carrier and slamming the axle down on a piece of wood on top of concrete. they get stuck in there when the bearings burn up like that.

If the bearing has exploded there is a fair chance the oil seals and balls have floated around and are jamming progress.

Do as above stated, and as you do try to rotate the axle to get the shrapnel in a different position.

It may pay to bump it back in to release it, rotate the axle and try to find a free spot, then try to bump it out again.

yea i was able to wiggle it out around the loose bearing fragments. However, I may have to resort to extreme violence and destruction to get the bearings and races out. (or take the carrier to bearing services and let them do it)
The carrier has some obvious damage from the complete rear end moving, is there a cheap (relatively speaking) place to grab a new one?

well the carrier itself has some damage.
anyone know about SRP Dual Row Axle Bearing Carrier? its more than i want to spend, but less than replacements I've found

if you are willing to pay that I don't see any problem with it. I know what you mean though. by the time you get a used carrier and put new bearings in it you almost bought a brandnew one. lots of am ones come with greese zerts so you can lube it ez

"by the time you get a used carrier and put new bearings in it you almost bought a brandnew one"
That's what I started to see on the ebay. I found an after market for 139 shipped. Is there a "go-to" carrier that many blaster owners use?

RAD makes a saweet billet twin row bearing carrier, gust google "rad blaster" and it will pop right up

the bearing had come apart and the race was stuck pretty good. I soaked everything with wd40 over night, I got it out and got everything put back together today. saved a wad of cash. I:I
