Carb size input.

I've seen people ether running or talking about running a 38mm on a worked up stock bore Blaster. Looking for input on running this size carb. It seems really big on a NON BBK motor.
 
thats way too big for anything but the most worked blaster motors known, like the one 442 just did, or possibly taters and some other drag set-ups
general rule of thumb is ...it'll always run lean from lack of air velocity

heres what i see most run with success...........
28 - 30's for stock non ported
32 - 34's for ported/stroked stock cylinders
35 - 36' for bbk's
 
yeah, well look who prolly advised him to run that carb and it is not a drag ported motor, the manipulated dyno chart shows only 33 pony's
 
Drag blasters don't worry about how the engine runs when you crack the throttle, only how the engine runs at WOT at maximum RPM's.

A 38mm carb is probably about right for an all out drag blaster. Minimum restriction to the incoming air.
