So I rebuilt my carb last week with the kit from Rocky Mountain. Everything went well in that area. I took the reeds out to inspect them and the intake gasket got ruined (3JM-13621-00). I figured I could just use gasket maker on it.

The first time I tried to start it, third kick and it started up fine. This was alot better than pre rebuild if it would even start then. I didn't have time that night to warm it up and start fine tuning it a little better as it wouldn't even idle after the rebuild. I shut the gas off and went in for the night. A few days later on Saturday I decided to try and get it idling at least and use the carb tuning guide in the stickies to tune it.

Problem is it will not idle for anything. I played with the idle screw under the seat with no luck. I then pegged the throttle and the revs just kept rising so I killed it. Same result happened for the next half hour. I finally gave up.

I'm guessing there is an air leak where the gasket goes. Would that be correct? I ordered a gasket online so I should be getting it this week. I can't test the air leaks with carb cleaner since I can't get it to even idle properly.

Specs are all stock. Jet is stock, airbox is stock, exhaust is stock. Just has a UNI filter. Using 32:1 premix with Maxima Super M oil.

I just wanted to pick your brains that it's most likely the sh*tty gasket maker that's the problem since the gasket is gone. I:I I:I

did the kit come with a new pilot jet? if not did you take yours out and clean it really good? also im not likeing the gasket maker on your intake, not helping the problem any.

I thought so too. Why would it be too small of a pilot if everything is stock besides the filter?

mabey its not, lol thats the joy of two stroke tuneing!! I:I how about your petcock? could it be dirty as hell? ive had that cause mine to not idle right.
