I got one of those vitos jet kits for my carb. Anyway I dropped the slide needle if thats what its called? Anyway its bent, can I use the stock one in its place even though I have a richer jet? Thanks.

So u bent the needle in the vitos kit? If so use the stock needle. The vitos needle made my bike run terrible...what is your setup? Most the time with the stock carb you don't need to really change out the pilot jet or needle...may just need to change the height of the needle clip if anything.

Thanks for the info. I have a stock carb, fmf pipe, no lid airbox, boysen reeds, stock piston, oil pump delete, TORS removed, nothing fancy.

ok, i have a toomey, boyesen reeds, no lid and trail port job on one of my blasters. It has a 300 main in it, try starting with that (if you havent already gotten it tuned) and work back down to smaller jets untill it doesnt spit and sputter from runnin rich. Your probably gonna need like a 280 or 290 jet.

Depending on your elevation and air filter type 280 sounds lean. Id start at at least a 300-310.

1000ft elevation, same mods in 70 degree temps with a 280 ran my cousins blaster WAY lean and blew it. He had no lid and a K&N filter.

He's in Nevada I don't think he will see 70* for a while. And at 1000ft to go lean with a 280 and blow up, maybe he had an airleak?

maybe he had an airleak?

unless it was leak tested before teardown, that'd be my guess too
we usually see 270-290 jets for fmf pipes on here, and techblaster swears he gets them tuned correctly with 250 mains ??? in philly at almost sea level ????
