i just did this today!!
only took like a 1/2 hour

ill try to explain it the best i can

once you get the carb off take the cap off and pull the slide. there is 2 small phillips screws on the top of the slide. take them out(be careful not to strip them). once u get them out the gold thing pulls up and you can switch the cable. make sure you put the adjuster, cap and spring then put the cable in the holder. put them 2 screws back in then that part is done.

the spot you need to drill the carb is on the same side as the choke and the air screw. its has a slight angle on the end off it. it has to be grinded or filled down to 1/2 inch. then you just drill that hole out and tap it. make sure you use some kind of lube when tapping, wd-40 will work if you dont have any thing else. make sure to get the tap good and straight and back it out about a turn after u turn it in a couple. MAKE SURE YOU CLEAN THE CARB GOOD AFTER YOU FINISH. then just thread the bolt with nut in the hole. put the slide and cap on and adjust the screw so the slide comes up a liitle bit. reinstall the carb and then adjust your idle.

you have to unhook 2 wires under the hood. the one that comes off the throttle. and another with 3 wires. let me know if you need pics of these

hope this helps bro

THIS IS FOR 2002 AND OLDER

liminlime_2005: you have to file or grind down the part where the new idle screw goes in to. its about 3/4 long and has a angle at the end of it, bring it down to 1/2 in. then you drill out the hole and tap it.

lobes: i didnt have any problems, just take your time. make sure you clean your carb good before you put the new idle screw in.
