carb cap question=bad threads

I have a carb I am wanting to use and the threads are alittle messed up. I cant get the carb cap to screw on. Does anyone know of a good way to clean/repair these treads on the carb.

dam idk if you can...i think you have to re-thread it

yeah the only way to do it is replace it, or tap it.

The cap on my carb is stripped too.It has 2 very small holes drilled on each side of the cap,and two very small threaded allen wrench bolts never comes loose.

^ nice idea, drill and tap and use set screws, but make sure you have it tight when its together!

squeeeze it a little with pliers making it a little oval rather than round should catch..

some plumbers thread tape might do the trick
