ive dropped my carb off today to have it drilled ready for my idle screw and assumed ill leave it with a chap who owns a pillar drill as in my rekoning that would be more accurate than my wobbly arm lol and he would have relavant drill bits ect anyway after shopping ive collected it and ffs hes only gone and drilled the right hand side after ive left him with the motion pro fitting guide i thought taking a pic would be insulting but i wish i did now allegedly this is what the threads were for lol ive had to tap it out and fitted a m8 bolt will this be ok or is my carb ruined ive also now drilled the proper side with a 6mm drill bit and my idle screw falls in and out without touching it with a tap not a productive day guys so some good news would be brilliant in sorting mine and his weiner ups

both snafu's are fixable.
his with the m8 bolt you used, if....you use some type of fuel resistant sealant, like yama-bond, or a fuel resistant RTV silicon on the threads.

your's is going to be tougher, firstly it called for a #6 drill, not a 6mm.
you'll need to search for the next tap size above 6mm, which may have to be 1/4" imperial thread.
if an idle screw isn't existing in that thread size ?, you may have to make one out of the proper length 1/4-20 bolt ?
be sure to find and use the correct size drill for the tap you end up with !

Just my luck it was me assuming the drill bit size via the #6 which is used with the bloody jets ive just been ordering so been trying to find a helicoil in m6x0.75 now in not familiar using helicoils , so the size i search will be the size of the inner thread size? which i cant seem to find any in this size in the diy kits

im half tempted after the day ive had to resin the locknut on and use a spring to keep it taught

ive been back in the shed and with what i have available i can shape an m8 bolt like the motion pro idle screw and then re thread my carb to m8 like the other side allowing the thin end to poke through and lift the slider because finding a helicoil in the size for the motion pro idle screw is not so easy

ive fixed my problem by tapping the thread to m8x1.25 and using a 13mm hex bolt which is half thread and 3/4 shaved down and domed to lift the slider off the ramp it works and does as it should although i will say i need to shape the done alittle more for precision

im seriously struggling to upload pics on here guys using my mobile as id definately like to start a thread in the full rebuilds section so i can go back through what ive done

nice save !

you'll need to download a pic resizer app onto your phone to upload them, cell pic are way too large for the MB allowed on here, i use "pic resizer lite" from the google playstore, then save the chosen pic as 640x480, then just use the upload button on here in your post, find the resized pic in the new folder it created and they should just upload as normal then
