cant get cover off?

the cover on the left side i can't get it off they just seem to ring the screws , i know i need to get an allen kit! but anybody lol?how can i get em off? il try a bigger screw driver later ... also do i need to buy gaskets?? its to put a 14t sprocket on

you dont need a gasket, it is rubber, unless you ripped it.

but try this, take your screw driver, use a hammer to beat the screwdriver into the screw, this will help loose the screw and also help the screw tip get better contact., but make sure they are straight on when you hit it with the hammer

;-) it's the bee's knees. A hex socket screw set will be easier to remove but you'll spend a lot of time cleaning the dirt out of the hex heads...

You can get impact screw drivers at most hardware stores, you just have to know what to ask for.

The allen head screws last longer. They are stainless steel and once you take the time to clean the dirt out of the socket head, the allen key won't strip out like a phillips screw head will. If you have a few dollars laying around you probably should consider an allen bolt kit.

i agree with teh socket allen heads but a impact screwdriver works fine also ive taken many stripped out screws out with one

That's just what I used on mine. As for mud getting into the head,at my local hardware store the have nice little chrome caps that clip onto the head to keep dirt out.

If all fails, drill the heads off the bolts, remove the cover and take what's left out with vice grips.

rockymountainatv.com has some cheap T-handle allen wrenches. those are much harder to lose. and easier to use
