Brute's rebuild(s)

make sure you have the steering and everything hooked up when your doing some of your mock ups. too much droop can cause bumpsteer. you also have to check tierod geometry, for angles and bindage when turning in full droop and full compression. put the front end together with the tires and get your bottom out set, thats a critical value, once you have that set you can work on droop untill you run into bindage or bumpsteer.

im going to be ordering those parts this week so i can start going through the motions with them. The whole point of the shock was just to see where i'm at for travel assuming everything works right, things will probably change when i actually get some more parts in.

just bought some stuff off ebay! I have some tie rods and spindles/hubs/rotors now on the way, so i can start mocking some stuff up. I also got some plans for a tube bender so i can make one of those and use it for this project (gotta modify the chassis to get things to work like I want) and for my up and coming project (you guys will just have to wait and see!):p

Keep in mind that this is just a little mock up to make me happy for the time being (i didnt intend for you to see the measurement, and i totally forgot what it was XD). I need to go over some more measurements and tighten down some bolts to see whats going on for the front end. I may need to move the lower shock mounts, but we'll just have to see.

didnt get to work on it this weekend because of school work, and just plain work (gotta make some money!) haha. Tomorrow i will do a little tinkering and give you guys an update.

At the request of blasterdude, here is some more :p

Sitting at a 10" ride height, the overall width is sitting around 45~46" and with proper shocks i should be getting a little over 10" of travel.

Next on the agenda? Getting the engine out of my other blaster and seeing why its leaking oil. Its def due for a rebuild and i might even port it and throw in a stroker crank. After that its just checking on the little things and making sure everything is good to go.

Note: The head was like that from the first time it blew up (ever that is, i made sure there were no raised portions on the head's surface), the pic is there just to show the carbon build up. 1.5 seasons on a track on the same top end, not too shabby.

I was planning on rebuilding the motor anyways and throwing in a +3 crank along with replacing all the seals in the lower end and replacing any parts that are worn out/broken/bent (shifter shaft is bent :S) so im not all that upset over the piston being scored like that, at least there isnt a huge gouge in the sleeve lol.
