Well i want to do a full brake replace on my 89 blaster. i need a bit of help. if posible, i need part numbers or somewhere i can get part numbers because im going to order them from a shop. i have no idea about the front, and if you guys know right away its going to cost alot then forget it. first priority right now, even over new shocks, is the back brake.

for the back i need:
-disk+hub(hub on it right now is stripped)
-hydro braded cable
-brake lever
-brake pads
-master cylinder???

i have a hydro caliper and i would asume thats the most expensive so im not going to buy a new one unless its fairly cheap.

for the front i pretty much need everything. ive been told i would need new rims because im going from drum brake to disk brakes. the rims on it right now are dinged up really bad anyway so it wouldnt be bad to get new ones, just ones that dont cost an arm and a leg.

now i have no idea about the difference between an 89 and a 90 blaster but i have an 89 and this site(http://www.kahunapowersports.com/fiche_section_detail.asp) is very good for giving oem part numbers BUT the models start at 1990 for the blaster so theres no 88 or 89. If the 89 and 90 are the same then im good to go.

Just go to the Yamaha Dealer in your Area. They will be able to print you out a pic that has all parts and numbers on it. You should be able to tell them what you have and what you need. That's what I just did for my front brakes. I had nothing from the front cable splitter down. So I had to get all the springs and cables and nuts and stuff. As far and back brakes go.. I'm just going a Hydro kit from Blaster Zone.

Just looked...No mention of a '89 Blaster but, there is an index for the '88 Blaster. Beware, the '88s and '89s have a different lower ball joint which makes them incompatable with all years after that. Half of '89 and beyond have a tapered lower ball joint shank rather than the straight shank like the top joint.
