No thats not true the brake should not lock up if you pull on it to hard. but my friend it is an easy fix. if you have your stock rear brake cable just throw it away now. its trash! next buy a shorty rear brake cable. motion pro makes one. then, clean out your brake caliper really well re-assemble it and install your new rear cable. then your rear brake will work better than you ever knew that it could!
i actually have a sticky on this site explaining how to get your brake working well under somebody elses "brake problem" thread. Search through and see if you an find it!
mine does lock up when you mash on it hard. its great. and people think that you have to convert to hydro in the rear.
ummm, the rear brakes should lock up if you press on the pedal hard enough. as with any brake system, if workign properly, there should be a point of locking up the wheels and sliding them on the ground. if they are not, you need to rebuild the caliper. if they are staying locked up, you need to rebuild the caliper.

Mine DO! and if I put the front brakes on hard enough they will too, buried the front up to the a arms a couple of times.
make sure that that WHITE plastic ajuster inside the caliper is not to tight and then aslo make sure that you dont tight the caliper cover on to tight.(held on by 3 allen head screws) Should only be tightened down at about 5-6 lbs. So, bearly hand tight. Dont crank it down as tight as you can. There is a spring inside the cover that presses on the caliper system.
nope. that part of the reason why the rear brakes dont work that well. it takes away the parking brake. who needs that anyways.
i carry my quad on a trailer every time i go ride. all i do is put it in first gear, and put tie downs at all 4 corners.
