Can the standard carb be bored at all to increase it from the 26mm to a larger size say 28mm? Thus keeping the original outside diameter but increasing the inner diameter that will fit into the boots and intake pipe.
What is the max size this can be done to, if at all!

I am currently in a different city to my bike so i cannot measure myself for a few weeks. Just trying to gather info!
Many thanks!

I am not sure how big they can be bored. But I think if you watch ebay for a kx, cr, yz or rm 85 carb which is a 28mm PWK. It will be cheaper. I got mine for 46.00 with throttle cable...

I had my carb bored on my old KX125 dont remember the sizes it wasover 12 years ago and I had DynoPort do it. Well I had them do the complete top end.

I guess the best way to find out is to give Dyno Port a call or use the link Brando gave.

The stock carb can be bored about 1mm over and that's it. I've done this a bunch of times. It gives much better throttle response and a little more pull. To tell you the truth, you won't even have to re-jet. Don't even think about doing this by hand. It won't work. Any machine shop with a lathe and a boring bar can do it. Just make sure they know when to stop or you'll never be able to idle your Blaster. Send me a PM if you want me to do it.

Now is that for all carbs? Meaning being able to bore then just 1mm?

yes u can it works good find a company that can do what they call a squar bore that will give u the bigest bore that u can bore it out to witch i know on a banshee carb it is like 27.5 mill i have ran stockers bored on two of my banshees that were both built and they make great hole shot bikes for the dunes. two company were i live do this and mabe more aroud now they are holeshot and superior sleeve.

1mm is what I've found to be the max on a Blaster but other carbs could be different. You need to make sure that you don't overbore to the point that the bore for the slide is cut away. This will cause an air leak. I like to leave about 3 mm of the slide bore on both sides.

Oconnor, where are you in CT?? Would you put one of those baffle things in there?? I read that other website and it sounds like it may be necessary if you have a bigger carb that you can bore out a few mm's over stock...but only one mm extra, is that necessary?

ok good stuff, I would like something like a 30mm or so, or at least a 28mm. When changing the carb altogether, how do you get a bigger one to fit into the reed cage housing with the rubber boot without tearing it?
