hey guys prolly a stupid question but are the big bore kits basically a ""bolt and go"" setup or do you have to modify the bottom half of the motor too? any other mods needed if u were to get one of these

but i would suggest you take your crank out and replace the bearings and have it trued and welded to good measures. you dont have to do this, but it will help.

yea i figured there would be some small things you would need to change just wantrd to know if anything major would also have to be done to the machine

no you dont need it id sugest it but its not a must kinda thing to do

Hudack is right... a big-bore engine will run with a re-jetted stock carburetor, but you will see much better throttle response and overall power with a larger carburetor. The same goes for the exhaust pipe, though I really wouldn't run a stock exhaust with a BBK. Get a right-hand bend pipe for best performance.

The difference is the tuned range for a given pipe and the total available flow provided by the stinger and convergent section.

MOST (HUGE caveat here) left bend pipes are made for mildly modified engines tuned for "mid" or horsepower increase without total sacrifice of torque.

MOST right bend pipes are built for increased flow and tuned for "top" or the upper reaches of the RPM range. They sacrifice some torque for increases at the top end of the RPM range especially where MOST of the left bend pipes will begin to choke an engine because there isn't enough bleed through the stinger.

You can run most any pipe with most any setup but with most things, you won't be getting the best out of the system unless it's tuned together. Better to run a screamer engine setup with a screamer pipe setup and screamer carburetor setup.
