So iv decided to scrap the blasters 200 2 stroke. Now the reason why is the trails i ride have alot of mud holes and some deep water spots and i really dont want to be changing top ends all the time. Now i have made a deal for a 350 worrior motor and was wondering if anyone has done this swap and what kind of issues am i looking at. I have all the tools and skills to fabricate stuff as i go along but any tips on problems i might run into before i start the project would be helpful...

hmmmm prob better to build a boat around the blaster than you can trail ride AND go in deep water! lol

Lol i had a little suzuki lt185 and it went threw everything last yr and i know the blaster will to but itl pop the top end and when im about 4 hrs away on the trail deff dont want that lol

man I know ppl round here that straight go threw ponds and keep riding all day no issues what so ever. reliable and looking for a MUD machine would be a utility type quad, reliable cheap toy for mud wouldn't be a blaster frame with a warrior engine tho lol.

IF IT WORKS DONT FIX IT!!

IF IT BRAKES USE WHAT YOU CAN!

The engine in question is an absolutely terrible choice. If you're going to switch to a 4-stroke, at least go with a higher performance 4-stroke. The 350 isn't a very well designed engine. Of the 4 that I've dealt with, I've twisted a crank, a friend of mine twisted a crank, and another guy completely destroyed his engine. Only mine was due to over-revving. Get something more capable and reliable than that.

If you must do an engine swap, go with a 125cc or larger 2t dirt bike engine or a 250cc or larger 4t dirt bike engine. To save yourself a headache, allocate the money for the swap into getting the Blaster engine built properly and it'll last for years.

I've been on the same Banshee engine since 2009, and I have absolutely tormented that engine. I've put that engine through things that I'd scream at other people for. It has only lost 2psi on one cylinder during that time. If you take care of a well designed 2-stroke (which a Blaster is), it will last.

Lol thanks for your thoughts guys but im really looking for answers to my question not comments on keeping the blasters motor. I know it is a awesome engine and all but trust me when i say itl get effd up were i ride. Iv had multiple 2 strokes and they have all done the same.

if you want a warrior motor, get a warrior

i personally would never buy a warrior. after seeing what happened to my friends, i officially think they are the worst!

also if you go for a warrior, they are not nimble, but bulky and heavy

Ok so let me refrase it, the blasters motor is shot have to spend to much to fix it so i set it aside. I have the 350 and am going to put it in so i can go mudding. Now what kind of "mechanical" issues am i going to run into. (Dont wana hear the motor sux and thats the issue) id actually like some insight on the topic and not so much a negative response. I understand you guys are blaster junkies and im commiting a crime lol but common guys help me out plz

I think what members are trying to say is.... it is not worth the time or effort to do this swap. Therefore no one has ever done it or can offer advise to help you out .Sorry ,:( Just sayin.

Ugh

From what I can see, there won't be anything more than general fabrication required. Outside of the carb being in a terrible place for mounting and the clearance for a larger pipe going under the rear plastics, it should be straight forward.

All jokes aside, my completely impartial thoughts on this are that you're going to be very disappointed with the amount of work involved and the outcome. If you do a build thread, we'll help out.

I am all for improvements, but the final result here I fear is going to end on the down side.

Measure the space available, the sprocket line up, wether you need to cut the frame ect.

Welding engine mountings is not an easy job and must be done properly or they can break.

If you can easily do the swap without any major fabrication then all may be well.

Personally i feel that a Warrior swap is a poor choice, the humble YFS 200 will serve you well if tuned correctly.

There are a few guys on BF who ride Blasters in mud like you have never seen before, and they come out smiling.

To sum it up and to keep you smiling, there are better choices of engines.

What I am getting from some of the posts is that you fear blowing the engine up.

Keep water out of the intake, use good lubricating oil, jet for the conditions, leak test often and viola problem solved.
