i spray painted my bike a while ago and its starting to peel. whats the best way of getting the paint off? and can you polish the original plastic?

ya but i was bored and it lasted a lot longer than i thought it would. but what is the best way to get it off??? paint thinner/power sander?? what do you think??

don't use sand paper you will scratch the plastic underneath the the paint, if you have time i would suggest going to a paint store like a pittsburgh paints or sherwin williams and see if they have a thinner ( there are lots of different kinds) or a stripper that isn't so hot as to damage or melt your plastic.

Mine was spray painted black when I got it. I used either wal mart brand carberator cleaner of the gumout brand and spray it on the plastics. After it soaks in for a little, the paint will start to get all bubbly and whipe off. It takes some time to get it completely off, but it works. I then preceeded to wet sand with 1500 grit sandpaper and then buff it out by hand with polishing glaze. I couldnt be happier with the results. Good Luck.
