wondering on your thoughts about this... some may say stupid for puttin it in the blaster forum...... but cant decide. i have 2,500 euros to spend, on a quad, trailer, extras, powerwasher... i can buy a nice race ready blaster for 1,650 euros a trailer for 250 euros and a powerwasher for 110 euros and the rest on gear, or i could buy a banshee and trailer for 2250, and the rest on gear. or i can get a z400 with nice extras for around 1,700 euros a trailer for 250 and the rest on gear and extras,, what i am using the quad for is just messing around some mudding some trail riding.. i have rode clutch atvs before

whats your maintenance budget? plus once you get the bike are you going to want to upgrade it even further? The Blaster will be the cheapest as far as maintenance/repair costs . The banshee is far faster , and has a million different set ups to play with . I'm not familair with the z400 , but its a 4 stroke so unless your Left Brained , stay away from the 4 choke!!!!

i would say go with the banshee. if your really that confused about what to pick. go test ride them and tell the guy you'll let him know after you know which you like best. blaster is fun for bootin around on but lacks power, banshees are fast but more tiring to trail ride with, and the z400 is probly the best trail bike, but its a 4 poker...

and are those your only 3 options?

budget for maintenance would be about 200 euro a year... theres not many clean banshee's in ireland for small money and there aren hardly any lt250rs either.... the blaster is 240cc duncan sticker kit powder coted frame and a-arms cut fenders looks fretty good but is a tad to small im 5'7 btw and 11 stone

The banshee will be blaster maintenance x2 as far as cost. The blaster will have the cheapest parts and will maneuver better in the trails. The 400 will cost a lot more to maintain, but will require less maintainance if that makes sense. My brother had the 400, and it doesn't maneuver very well. I'd go with the blaster.

wel i would like a banshee and a z400 but the four stroke has better reliability,, but the banshee has better power to weight ratio, it is 100 euro for a piston for a bansheex2 is 200,, my best freind has a z400 and that thing can hustle, and is pretty good in mud trails and for playing around, but banshee's have me for there speed trail ability,, but what are they like in mud and on mx tracks and there handyness because it has to e good for playing around on and good for jumping,, and are they reliable?

If your only problem with the blaster is your size, "race cut" the plastics/fenders or just buy some 450 fenders for it..

i think any 2 stroke is more reliable than a 4 stroke simply because they run on a much easier to work on base. four strokes have cams, timing chains, valves and other components that are more labor intensive. where as a 2 stroke is much easier to work on and maintain by design. i myself haven't owned a banshee. a few of my friends have them and ive been on them quite a few times. they Are fast! pretty decent for trails once you get used to them. they handle jumps well with some suspension upgrades (not many stock quads can fly without a few mods to their suspension. there is a butt load of aftermarket parts available for both blasters and shees. an honest answer would be to try all of the ones youre looking at first and see which one fits your riding style best. i cant say enough about the blaster either. compact yet nimble on trails. good power and easy upgrades. check some of the vids out and it will give you an idea, the guys on here have some really sweet rides of All makes...see what their doing with theirs. oh, by the way, i have a blaster and im 6' 170lbs which is something, something stone...lol

^^^You guys are Bias!!! Lol! Id go with the banshee! resale value, more 'crap ur pants' speed value and who in there right mind wants a 4 stroke?

im not bias. i owned a banshee for nearly a year. its was in great condition, had fullflight a arms and works triple rate shocks, and at the time i loved it, but it doesnt compare to how fun my 250 is. its a totally different ride, and although its "slower" i can ride it faster in most places then i could my banshee, aside from bombing down the roads lol. also owned a blaster, but it wasnt all that great.

The Banshee is a legend and the Blaster isn’t that far behind for reasons stated above. I don’t know anything about the LT 400. But what I can tell you is that I’m a little over 6’ and weigh in at 205lbs. and I can’t keep the front of my Blaster down 1st through 3rd when I open it up.

Anyway you look at it you cant go wrong with a Yamaha 2 stroke

All this Banshee talk makes me wish I knew a way to smuggle a new Banshee in from Germany to avoid all that extra tax.

i've owned a LT250R, a LT500R, a brand new 2001 Banshee, and 3 blasters.

if i was looking for a trail machine i'd buy a LT250R because unlike a banshee it has low end power lol, and it is very responsive and easy to handle

banshees, LT500Rs, blasters, and even 4-jokes have their place.

but out of all them i think the LT250R is a good fit I:I

Yeah two strokes take more maintence but four strokes still cost more to maintain. also two strokes may break more often but the parts are way cheaper and easier to diy. when something breaks on a 4 poke motor get ready to shell out alot more cash!! Id go with a 2 stroke all day IMO.

A blaster is, as you guys know... very small.. In my opinion they are cramped, uncomfortable, and lack power. It is really hard to keep up when i'm on my blaster.

The banshee is awesome... but high maintenance... and expensive..

The Z400 looks to be the best choice here. Good suspension, more hp than others in its class, water cooled, etc...

Me... I'd go with the Z400 , more reliable, comfortable quad.
