why plus 5? seems way to long
not with the motor i have its not
and i plan on running that same motor as well but more so geared towards MX
just have fun trying to turn it i guess
ohh and your avatar is a little excessive..
swinger looks sick bro whens the motor spose to get in
in case u havent noticed blasters turn like sh*t no matter if there stock or longer. its much easier to slide one around a corner and the longer the arm the easier it slides. and personally i dont give a sh*t what anyone thinks of my avatar i like it thats all that matters
actually thats far from the truth... blasters are very nimble around the corners due it its short wheelbase... it only needs to be wider to not tip over
plus when you have a decent front suspension (not just YFZ stockers that are not designed for your application) the handling is just as good if not better than a stock 450... now it doesnt compare to a LT set up on a 450, but still
I think the +5 looks awesome!!!!! But may be a bit long for trail riding.. I think my + 4 1/2" extension is to long.. I cant get good traction in the dirt and gravel, even with my big a$$ all the way back on my seat it spines. With the + 4 1/2" extension off its like WOW but i spend all day looking at the sky..lol.. I do get good traction on the blacktop with the + 4 1/2" extension. I think the +2 & +3 are better for trail riding but i like the longer look of the +4 & +5. Im thinking of fabbing up a +3 or +4 swingarm for my blaster but i cant decide to go practical with a +3 or go for the better looking +4..lol..
u are the only person i have ever hear say a blaster is nimble and turns good truth is they turn like crap period! and my yfz shocks arent STOCKERS they have been completely revalved
lets break it down...
short wheelbase and lightweight = nimble, its why i choose to run this bike against other bigger sized 2 strokes when i race
now with a stock front end its terrible because of its lack of width
but put on at LEAST some plus 3s with some elkas, PEPs, floats... etc with a real good stabilzer, they handle extremely good
the weakness with the blaster geometry is the bump steer... which with a precision unit virtually eliminates that
maybe you should put some track time on your set up... those yfz shocks are a start, but def no where near some a/m shocks. i feel like your taking all the opinions that are spewed on this site that come from 14 year old kids that are running stock front ends and then go and ride a 450 and just biotch about how "terrible" a blaster handling is cuz they rode a newer machine... well no sh*t, you need to do somethings to it!
also, if they turn like crap no matter what, why you dumping all this money into it? handling is my number 1 priority in a bike, which is why i have over 2gs into my front end
hey 442.. are you building a dragger too? i thought you were going to at one point.
yes i am , but theres not really all that many places to race one around here so its not real high on the priority list atm
oh ok..yeah i dont know about the tracks out where you are. if you want to find some i can point you in the right direction..
