Ok so I figured I would help someone out by posting this. I had beat my brains out with my blaster starting hard, it would idle when it did start but if you gave it any gas it would die. After coming here and figuring out how to do a leak down, a compression test, adjusting/cleaning the carb I found out this was my problem.

It seemed everyone said the reed valves were the last thing to check because they rarely fail...

Pic not available, and I am glad that I am not an "everyone" cos reeds often fail.

Reeds often get overlooked when carby cleaning, but if ever I suspect a carby problem I will always pull the reeds to check them.

Most mechanics will pull the reeds if they have gone to the trouble of taking the carb off, it saves taking it apart again if the clean did not fix a problem.

Don't forget to leak test the motor as you have had the reed block off.

I have it as an attachment now. Sorry about that.
