blast still won't run!! help!!!

Ii unplugged the tors completely installed aluminum airbox, it idles now but still bogs out of first. what needles you reccomend? running a 152 and a 48, clip is in the middle

Your going to want close to an EEK needle. If the guy u bought the carb from didn't have a big bore kit and his bike ran properly then the needle in it should be close. Have u tried setting your idle circuit to make sure u have the right pilot. What u want to do is let the engine warm up for a minute then turn your air screw all the way in and then open it about 1/8 of a turn while keeping the engine running adjust your idle either using the idle screw or adjustment at the throttle until you get a fairly fast idle. Now slowly open the air screw 1/8 to 1/4 turn at a time with about 15 seconds in between each turn. You should notice the rpm kick up a bit after each turn. At the point that the engine rpm stops increasing stop there and count how many turns out that you are. If your between 1-2 full turns your pretty good. If your less than 1 full turn you need to increase the pilot jet size and if your more than 2 turns out you need to decrease ur pilot jet size. Then start the same process again until ur between 1 and 2 turns. 1 1/2 turns is optimum. This is the first step in properly jetting your bike. Then move on to the needle. It's a little tricky, but once u get the hang of jetting your bikes will run better than u ever knew they could.

yeah i di that to set the idle, he had a .20 bore on his, and the air screw is 1/12 out, which i think it is the needle now, thanks for the info, only thing i didn't know was the needle deal, didn't think the needle would be much of an issue. its got a 48 and 152 right now.

The needle is the backbone of the carb. It's the most crucial part of the circuit because it controls the fuel for 90% of your riding 1/4 - 3/4 throttle. How many of us put around at 1/8 throttle or full throttle all the time. Here's some tips for setting up your needle properly.

You can mark the throttle grip at 1/4 and 3/4 openings or just try to do it by feel. Then ride the bike between these two marks/points. If the bike bogs for a second before responding to throttle, lower the clip a notch at a time until the engine picks up smoothly. If the bike sputters or sounds rough when giving it throttle, raise the clip until it runs cleanly. There isn't really any way to test the needle other than by feel, but it's usually obvious when it's right or wrong.

yeah it is in the middle right now, someone else told me to raise it one clip at a time that my jetting was good but i could drop the main to 148. i got one problem out of the way, hopefully this will fix the last one, trying to ride this weekend! been doing this for 2 weeks, trying to tweak it right, installing upgrades now its time to get my moneys worth!
