teh blaster would be tippy i now a guy who put a yz490 on his i have a nijja 500 moter and wireing harnes for sale i want 250 plus shippen or my dad is a truck drive he drives from canada to florada i live in maine tho

Yeah im thinkin the yz400 I guess there more reliable idfk and i want to keep it a smoker i got a 85 yamaha fz 750 that i need to put together but i just got done puttin a different bike together so i dont feel like doin it. what part of maine u live?

For the other members reading this:
No it won't be cheaper.
Factor in a go through the motor rebuild (mines 30 years old!),
and a pipe that is designed for a big motor,
and you easily spend more then a 240 kit.
Not to mention a butt load of time to make it all work together.
Am I trying to discourage anyone from doing it?
NO WAY!
It's worth it if you spend the $$$ and take the time I:I
Throwing in a straight up antique motor with a modified Blaster pipe
is not going to be work and be a waste of time.

good advice paulie!!!! , my guess was a 240 kit/port n polish

paulie if u were back to stock would u do the whole swap again or would u do the 240 and build that up? how much u got in ur motor? total

Oh yeah and i was deffinitly goin to buy a yz400 pipe even a stock one. I wasnt gunna try to rig the blasty pipe in there. I was gunna do this the right way and not rig it but i was gunna try usin the blastys turbine core 2 muffler but would that do anything to it?

Come on you know I'd do it all over again lol
Fame, fortune, mod status, mag. coverage, Quadfest champion, the women....
OK some of that has been exaggerated but don't call me out on it haha.
It's just rediculas to ride.
In just the motor:
$250 for the complete motor.
$250 for a piston kit (piston, rings, wrist pin, clips, base gasket)
$175 for a new rod, and crank re-bulid. (Mr. Crankshaft)
+ Flotek porting, I got a discount cause Denny is my boy, no
one else will do port work on my motors period.

*edit* the discount was not for promotion,
good work promotes itself.....

fame, fortune, status, women etc., etc,.............. great answer, lmao
ps. hurricane hannah was the man back in the day, and i do remember that ad in the mag's

My trail pipe is an original 79' YZ400 DG pipe you can buy right now for $210 on Ebay. Add (it will vary) the cost of someone to weld up the head pipe because it doesn't quite reach.
My drag pipe was made by FTZ and cost $330, $50 of that was for an optional silencer. You want the silencer if you want to run it with neighbors anywhere around you.
