I'm kinda new to Blasters.... or well i should say I'm kinda new to ATV's in general but I just picked up a blaster for cheap and I want to build it up a little. I don't know what year it is but someone told me it was around a 95 to 98 but that it shouldn't really matter b/c they were all about the same during that time. I was told it has been bored .40 over. It runs good right now but I think it is getting kinda low on conpression b/c when parked on a grade it will slowly roll down hill bu not to bad yet. I"ve been doing some research on upgrades and have seen the 240 big bore kits and was wondering who all makes them and what all other upgrades would I need to make to install this on my Blaster? Do I have to upgrade my Carb (which I plan on doing later if I don't Have to do it with the kit.) or my clutch or anything like that? Also What are some good websites to look for parts on.. I need some new tires and like I said just some new parts to fix this thing up.. I only got $200 in the bike right and it runs like a champ but want to make something more out of it. THANKS

i do believe ct sonic make a whole kit with carb pipe everything its like 1500 and vitos makes a kit aswell..theres is alittle cheaper u dont get carb or pipe with the vitos..

make sure if u get a 240 it is ported. a ported 200 will run just as hard as a 240.my husband has a lt250 and i have a ported 204 cc (stroked) and we are matched in a drag

Is the Vitos kit ported??? I've looked at it.

yes, they do.... Vito's Performance Products BIG BORE CYLINDER AND HEAD KITS Woodward Specialties Uwchland, PA (484) 228-8123

I know this is an old thread but is the big bore worth it then if I can just port the stock bore? Will the oversized piston matter? I am running a fmf fatty and am not going to change it. Would like to keep the stock (but jetted) carb too unless a bigger one is ABSOLUTLY worth it!! Thanks!

a stock ported jug will be fast. u can get a wiseco high compression piston to. im buying a 240 kit though and im gonna run it with my fmf pipe and i have a 28mm carb its small but bigger than stock. for the price of buying a piston and havin ur head ported and bored ur spending the same as a 240 kit ported that comes with a piston and gaskets and all.

So What do you know about this kit? Can you pass along any bookmarks that you might have for links!!I:I Also will the motor be night and day difference for some arm pulling power and SNAP!! I want it like my old 89' 250R!! But I'm worried about too much heat...will the 240kit run hotter that a ported and milled 200cc?

The 240 kit will need to be ported. They all say that they're already ported but the porting is a joke. The vito's kit has alot of casting flaws that need to be fixed to get it to run to its full potential. Heat really isn't an issue as long as you have it set up properly (jetted correctly, good fuel, oil).
