best shock for long travels

Those arms are designed around the 16.25" shock length I believe. YFZ450 length shocks.

You're forgetting one VERY crucial piece of information and that's your budget. The very best shocks are going to run about $1,500 for the pair. YFZ length Works black widows, Elka stage 3's, Pep's or Ohlin's just to name a few.

Stock YFZ's aren't a terrible bargain at about $200 used. GT thunder makes a re-spring kit for them custom tailored 3 stage springs and new valve packs for every weight and riding style possible.

One of my cuzns said I have to get that diamon j widn kit for the 450 TO work with asr sumthn bout messn with geometery I c every1 on here has long travel a arms an dnt hav it he's a no it all so I fig I wud ask yall

Wow, enough with the partial words. It hurts my brain to read... we'll try for whole words and whole sentences from now on ok?

Properly placed shock absorber mounting tabs will allow you to run 16.25" long shocks without a diamond J widening kit. The "LT" a-arms have the shock absorber mounting tabs placed correctly to run those shocks.

WTF!! Would you please speak proper English?

You would need the Diamond J widening kit, and the Diamond J shock conversion kit to do the yfz450 front shocks.

Yes. Cole might argue that point :p LOL but I do. +3 +1 a-arms. Shock mounts can be made wherever you want them to be made at. Cole has a set for YFZ450 front shocks right now.
