I run AMSOIL interceptor oil at 50:1 and love it. Everybody has their own preference, and you'll get lots of opinions. Here is a fact, though, to help you narrow it down: There is NO MANDATORY TESTING REQUIRED for 2-stroke oils on the market today. Amost all reputable manufacturers of 2-stroke oils voluntarily subject them to testing, but this is not yet legally required.
When you are shopping for oils, you will see an ISO- and JASO- rating certification on some of the bottles. To be sure you're buying a high-quaily oil, get one which meets ISO L-EGC or L-EGD and JASO FC or FD standards. An oil which meets ISO L-EGD and JASO FD standards has been tested thoroughly and proven to perfrom to the (current) top industry standard. Example: My bottle of AMSOIL Interceptor oil has a label on the back which states that 'this oil meets JASO FC standards'. Therefore it has been tested and you are not buying a bottle of who-knows-what to mix in with your gasoline. Bel-Ray, Redline, Maxima, Castrol, and many others should also bear these labels. Buy oil according to certification, not because of a flashy label and un-tested promises you may see on a label. And by the way, Yamalube meets JASO FC/FD. It is OK to use as well. Mix it properly, and any brand of certified oil will perform well in your engine.
