Just tore off the side cases on the machine I just picked to change the crank seals.
looks to me the crank is bent?????
both sides of the crank have very noticeable runout
normal? Fixable? Or just junk?

some side to side is normal but not if its rocking on the lower bearing.. to slide from side to side a little is ok but no rocking

No idea of history
But its bent that's for sure
Gonna split case this weekend

It's pretty tough to bend a crank in a Blaster. Do you have any idea what might have caused it? Every now and then you can have pre-detonation at PRECISELY the wrong time when the rod is linear with the crank and piston and all the force is directed on the piston/rod, and crank and it can cause dramatic failure, but even then that tends to be on the rod.

Usually predetonation tears up the small end rod bearing first.

It's possible the crank was damaged and installed and has been run like that. Just happens you saw it when you were looking.

If you got some extra dough for the porting to get the max power out of it, go with the stroker kit.
