Basic rebuild,buetification of sorts.

Traded 2 mountain bikes for this abused wheeler from my uncle,Bent to hell frame.2bad ball joints,uppers.Bad wheel bearings front,bad clutch,runs great everything else ok just a lil neglected.
Today i picked up a parts wheeler for 100 bux.
Basicaly no motor or lower a-arms.Good ball joints and bushings in the uppers and much nicer plastics,good frame,Drum brake setup so i will have to chnge over n weld a few brackets do some paint.
Ordered New clutch and front wheel bearing kit from Vito's.
And ty for the warm welcomes,and all the info i have spent 6-8 hours here just searching and reading already.

This should come together fast,Air tools rock and here is my last project thanx to the GS Resources,just like this forum,awesome.

This bike had been thru the top end,Paint,n more paint, new tires,a few other things and after being sorted out around 100 hrs labor over the last year,done now tho.
 
I wil most likely recover the blaster seat as i did the Suzuki.I get seat covering 5 bux a yard from a friend with a business,prolly won't be black,havn't decided yet tho.
It already has a block off kit installed and the throttle mod,I may go twist throttle tho, not sure yet bu i have parts for it.
Everything else will get cleaned painted and lubed tho.I am gittin stoked, this is my first 4 wheeler, i had a kawi duckster 200 once, no suspension.That was fun. I have ridden for a long time tho, everything from ATC110 to a raptor and a race ready Honda 450 and a Suzuki 500 quad old 2 smoker.
 
sweet mate! looking better already :) one nice suzuki ! not sure of make as i deal with off road toys but still a nice machine :) whats your plans for the blaster? :p
 
Gonna make her look pretty for now,this winter a stroker crank and over bore and home port job,at the same time i will be doing a frame off on the suzuki,it's a 85 gs1150,Hyabusa of it's day.she is fun too hehe,hope she doesn't get jealouse.
But that's about it,not spending much as i can buy em local with either .080 over or big block kits for a grand or so.I just wanna make it look nice n rid the dickens out of it.
And if i find a carb for cheap i will prolly do that too this winter.
I never seem to sell toys, i ride em n repair em,cheaper than buying new.

yeah mate :) looks a sweet bike and quad :) i got a non runner blaster about 2 months back but i am paying for it as i need a left side crankcase but i amn't buying one im just selling on and going to pay about a grand on a good blaster thats running and has some mods :)

Sweet deal, i have a spare bottom end, but shipping would kill ya i think rom the states.
 
O.K. here we go first question lol.what is rattling around in my expansion chamber?
It has a pro circuit pipe.
Gonna have to research, i wanna take the lid off the box,and the pipe with a stock carb what jets should i use?
And what is the best carb to upgrade to used so i don't spend a ton o cash, i wanna keep this thing under 300 buck or the wife is gonna kill me after all the dough i got into my GS1150
Got all the parts of the quad with the bent frame,took 1 hour and 15 minutes with parts bagged n marked n ready to go onto the other frame, have to weld on some mounts tho as they cut off some motor mounts with a dream of a 450 motor on it lmao.
 
Ok so i need to cut the pipe open n clean it out.Will a Flux core welder be good enuff?or should i have my buddy mig it, i don't have gas for my welder right now. :(
 
So i mispelled my title, how do i fix it?,another wuestion, do these have a power valve?like a lt250r? or just run it wide open?lol
 
Looking at parts on fleabay,omg i stole this parts machine, the donor had Aluminum shiny mags n steel fronts, now i have matching rims that need elbow grease to be perty.
Not to mention 2 sets of plastics now, 1 set stock 1 set shaved.
Frames alone sell for big money,I just am itchin to git'r done n ride.I just wanna put it together once and be done tho.I mean why do a frame swap n not clean and paint.Wish i couls afford powder coat bu oh well.
All these parts seperate used turn to alot of cash i will never have to spend.

This sux my camera died,painted A-Arms and spindles today.
Seems so far the frame is satin black and same for the spindles.Polished aluminum mags,Gold A-Arms and blue bodywork.Swingarm stock silver,gonna have to fab a custom front bumper as soon as i find some scrap steel and that will be gold also.
And why do people hate on the blaster anyway?What gets me is when someone says they are junk and that person doesn't even own a wheeler,sled,or a boat even,and they usualy drive a Yugo

clutch and wheel bearings show up tody,everything is painted,but the engine looks ratty as hell.homemade soda blaster maybe?whats the best engine paint to use?any ideas out there?

It took me all of 2 hrs to strip both frameswith welding and other stuff i figure6 hrs n she be ready
 
Before you start it do a leak down test.

You asked about what jets should you use, pray tell what pipe, carby, oil ratio, elevation and all other motor mods, so someone can give you a ballpark figure.

I think folks are hating on Blasters as they are consistently being whooped by them.

They are an uncomplicated little ATV, but like all 2 strokes, they require caring for.
 
I got some answers posting it in the propper section of the forum.Everything is stock.
This really sucks that my camera died,
I got a $10 media blaster last night from Tractor supply.Blasted the engine clean n ready for paint.Wish i could document it,This lil unit Kicks Harbor Freghts ass easy.Did a Great job on it. Lets just say thank god i have a large Compressor to run it.
I modified the Media blaster ,It had a sock that holds about 1 pint of media, i took it of and had some spare Hose lying around and ran it to a 3 gallon bucket loaded with media.
 
Well i really need to get a camera.
12 hours today cutting fabbing more paint and it is all back together.
Took it for it's maiden voyage in the dark down some trails.I have to say these wheely really easy and turn radius is awesome.BUT now i know why people extend the swingarms and widen the fron ends.Feels like riding a toy compared to a 400ex or yfz450.
Overall i am happy tho,got me a good lookin running quad for under 300 bux.SWEET
 
I will get the finish pics up tomarrow, i got nerf bars on today and fabbed some skid tubes under the engine,HUGE rocks where i ride haha.Gonna get some jets for it and keep my lid but drill holes in it to open it up,i want more power already.whooda thunk that eh?
