my freind is trying to tell me that a banshee thats race setup will smoke a yfz450r and ltr450 on a track and that banshees are great when there race setup lmao Is this true at all

I'm sure you can make a Banshee in a MX setup and make it do ok but they are not known for being a great MX bike. Now if he said 250R that would be another story. It would also have a lot to do with rider skill.. I'm sure if his banshee is setup right he has beat some stock 450's on the track but it all comes down to rider skill a lot of the time on a MX track. I would say in a MX race it would be about 25% bike and 75% rider skill.

i guess some of that is
they are not great on the track because they have to much power you would probly shoot straight past the corner. but if they are race setup they will blow out any 450 in a drag but not on the track

I know a couple guys that have raced a banshee in mx. The banshee has two problems when it comes to mx racing. 1) there heavy and 2) they lack the low end power needed on an mx track. They do ok but there are definately better quads out there for mx racing. Equal riders racing and the banshee will get beat, imo

yea thats what i fugure this kid is just the type that talks outta his ass thnx guys for the info no lie I thought back in the day the 250r and banshee where rivals on the track I no the banshee is a great dune and drag machine I seen it before

I cant imagine someone who is associated with atv's or dirtbikes talking out their ass or getting into a weiner sizing contest talking about their buddies quads.

My main riding buddy has an '02 banshee with yfz450 a-arms, ltr450 shocks, and a decent trail port. It's different from a typical mx'er that's for sure, but he seems to be pretty quick on it. Has good drive out of the turns, and he somehow throws it off the same jumps we do. I hate jumping the thing.

Anything is possible. Different animals, but I think it takes a similar effort to turn a blaster into a moderately quick mx'er as well. Suspension work and some decent low-mid grunt from the motor and both are flying high. This is all from a "play riding" point of view. In upper level race classes I think you'd need something more purpose built.

on a scale of 1-10 i would give them about a 5-6..no more because like STROKER said they have no low end power...me and a couple freinds made are own...and let me tell you,we have a turn that comes after a stright away and i have to down shift from 4th to high second in about 15ft...its not the easiest thing to do and still keep up...having to brake way before everyone else...

^^^^ dude im not gonna try to start a fight but there are times when its best not to say anything right there was a pertect time not to say anything... sorry but i highly dubt you could

give me a banshee ill smoke a 450 on a track
i highly doubt that man...i would let you ride mine out there on a track against the 450's an it wouldnt happen...
