I finally got my blaster put together but I've got an issue. At first when I started it I couldn't get it to idle. It would rev up but if I let off the throttle it would die. I checked everything I knew to check and cleaned the carb several times. I finally let a friend look at it and he thinks the head gasket was leaking. He took it off and used some kind of spray on it and got it put back together. It will start up easily now but I can't get the idle low enough. If I choke it, it will usually settle into a normal idle. Earlier I was messing with it and it was creeping up with the choke on. With the choke off it seems like it is at half throttle. Will a head gasket leak causes an inconsistent idle like that? This motor is new from top to bottom.

Permatex copper spray gasket?
If you took gasket off then put it back on you need to anneal it.
Search that.
Leak test.
compression test.
free flowing exhaust.
just throwing stuff out there lol
Is tors..Throttle Overide System still on the quad?
Or is the carb cap stock or has it been drilled with a idle screw?
free flowing gas from tank to carb.
airscrew setting, float heigh, reeds are in good condition?
Im not familiar with all your posts but everything is written on here
and easier to search under your web browser then the forums search button imo:)

Buy a new gasket, annealing is not a easy as one may think.

A torch in the hands of a pro can easily do it , but get the heat uneven and there may be some hard spots.

It may also pay to check the head for warpage.
