damn, i did not.
i put a whole front differential in my truck, and couldn't help myself when new plugs/wires showed up for my jetta.
needless to say, i had a busy day.

could you text me in the AM to remind my old ass to look for it ?

Will do haha. That jetta looks good. my buddy let me drive his vr6 before.... Those things are faaaaaaast
 
i stand corrected, both bearings can be in the cases before sweating the crank into the bearings.
but it still stands that a socket, as i've seen suggested WILL NOT WORK.
it must be a solid dowel to transfer enuf heat.

Yeah, I still need a dowel but I'm gonna try my luck with a tusk crank installer. I'll open a thread of my other rebuild when I start it next weekend

those crank installers work good, you'll be fine.

I always use a piece of steel pipe with map gas. Takes a while, but has never let me down. It's the same diameter as the inner race.
