has any one ever had there house broken into while they where home? well this happened to me last night at 2 am it was pretty scary talk about an adrinalin rush, i had to inform the guy that my remington 870 didn't like to be awaken that early in the morning, sure enough he ran off into the dark

Never had it happen. What im wondering is why you even warned him? I wouldn't of said anything, just fired some rounds.

My father owns An 870, I love shooting trap with that thing. Probably has the same effects on heads! HA!

i got a mail slot in my door , about 8 years ago I had some ahole trying to get into my house at 2am ish , it happened over several events and the last event , I unloaded a 3" shotshell loaded with rock salt into his groin . I keep a under over shotgun in the closet , the upper is rock salt and the lower is a solid wax slug , non lethal but you ain't playing raquet ball the next day either. My 2am visitor never returned ....
Sorry if i came off harsh. But its a diff ball game when you have a family. I should probably read up on NY laws about killing an intruder, my temper is too quick and i have no mercy when you enter my residence.
E: In state of NY, you can pretty much use any physical force needed, but you cant use deadly force, unless you have a damn good reason to kill them.
thats about the same law here you can use physical force but not deadly force unless you're life is in danger... trust me a lot of things ran threw my head in a very short period of time. hope i dont have to do it again but im not afraid to pull out old trusty again if i have to

a guy a couple towns away was just left off with a wrist slap, his Gf's ex came a knockin, was in his yard spouting off, pulled a fence post out of the ground, and after repeated warnings proceeded to try and come up the steps onto the porch after them both.
a single shot to the chest from a cross bow ended his misery over this girl. ruled justified homicide.
my dads buddy back in the day had an unopened chrome toy cap gun from the dollar store laying on a table right inside his door, me knowing he had no young children around, asked him what is was for, after some snickering and prodding, he finally told me.......
if anyone entered his property who did not belong, they were getting the business end of a double barrel 12ga., the untouched chrome cap gun placed in their hand, and the packaging burnt before placing the 911 call to report a homicide of armed gunman !
