Might be a dumb question but,, We have an 03 Blaster that needs an axle carrier due to a really crazy crash. Since I can't seem to find one for an 03-06. Will one from the earlier years work if I use spacers for the caliper? Or would I have to start from scratch with a mount. They look very close from the pictures on ebay. Anybody know?

I could swear someone on hear said you have to fab a new mounting bracket.

Sorry not much help! I tell ya what, when i get home today, i will see if my 05 caliper mounts to the 89 carrier i have!

if this was an easy swap, 03+ brakes onto an older carrier, everyone would be doing it

ive checked and compared the two. they are SIMILIAR but you are correct in noticing the caliper spacers. As far as I could see, that is the only difference.

You could get it to work by welding some pipe cut to the right length to the carrier.

I tried it and i see no way for it to happen with out making another bracket! The holes for mounting on the 03+ calipers are not close off by 3/16th inch and the carrier frame mount on the 88-02 get's in the way of the 03+ mounting, The bracket will have to be raised and spaced out to work do-able for a mechanically inclined person!

Other options get an 03+ CARRIER or order a set of GSXR brakes off of AWK! which are bolt on and go, dual piston hydros with killer lockup power!

As above, gotta use the 03-06 carrier or make a new bracket!

Maybe just Get the caliper and rear bracket from awk and maintain your pedal and master cylinder arrangement?

Wow!,, Thank You everyone for your checking and advise. I've been trying to find the correct carrier ( an 03 ) but no luck. I thought they looked close enough, but 3/16 isnt. When I put a front caliper from a z400 on the oldest boys '98 I had to remove the ears completely and start from scratch so I have nothing to compare to. Thank you all again, Trent
