ATV Stand??

What do you guys use to keep your quad held up when you're working on it?? I saw this attachment for a regular jack today that was made for jacking up ATVs from the 'belly,' or the center...under the engine. Right now I'm using a rear tire to keep the thing propped up!! I usually use a cinder block under the carrier to do rear axle work...

Anyone use anything fancy, or know of any cheap tricks to make a nice work stand?? The right 5 gallon bucket works excellent for most dirt bikes, as long as you're not hammering on it too hard!

i use a milk crate if its just to keep the wheels off the ground. but if your talking like standing level with the quad, some kind of intence jack. at my co op at a shop they have these mx stands or whatever there named and there sick. hydro jacks with things to lock the foot pegs to the stand and you can jack a quad up to a good working level. probably expensive as hell, but the nicest jacks for working on anything like a quad or a dirtbike.

if you really wanna go ghetto ,just buy a come-a-long hook it up over head someplace secure ,hook it up to the quad ,and up you go. seriously though, get yourself a good workbench ,put the quad up on it with a milkcrate holding it up. two sawhorses with a couple 2x4's and your good to go for cheap

Yeah, the sawhorses work good. When we got my blaster down we made a bench out of 2 sawhorses, and like a wall out of 2x4s and a piece of plywood. My brother got them, plus a shop vac for 12 bucks at an auction. Works really good to paint stuff and work on things.

We also bought a atv/snowmobile/bike jack last fall. I used it some in the winter, and its nice.

I have used both a car jack, jack stands, and the atv lift.
Personally, the atv lift is nice because all the wheels turn so you can easily move the quad around the garage to store it out of the way and sh*t.
