Anyone have cooling?

not even worth it for 250 thats a big price if you really want a liquid cooled motor find a motor from a yamaha dt200 almost the same exact motor except liquid cooled and more horsepower

hes asking to much money for it.......... do what blaster dude said...... but maybe he doesnt want a new engine... then it would not be a blaster

good question, i saw that awhile back and wondering the same thing. how well does it work? and i didn't think the price was bad.

first off, thats not really a bad price, i do have that in my plans for over the winter, along with some porting, so come spring i'll have to do a diy and report on it, those and the other brand "cool head" have been around for years, the cool heads i believe are still sold and popular for the banshees, and you guys always talk that dt200 sh*t, thats twice i've seen you suggest that, you've been hangin around mcdizzies.com too much, haha, have you ever searched for one, they were only sold in canada, and look to be pretty scarce to me
you can just put the topend and cooling system on your stock bottom end, if, if, if, if you can find one, next time you guys see one for sell, tell me where it is, i'll be on that like a fat kid on a twinkie

what makes the DT version have so much more power ?

im thinkin that the compression is more, ported different??? and i'ts also a power valve motor, go to macdizzy.com, they have one and lots of info, specs
and a diy, but all of thats just good reading if ya cant find one!!!!

what makes the DT version have so much more power ?

its the agressive dirtbike style porting...BUT if you get your cylinder ported then the only difference would be the liquid cooling...
this liquid cooled head would be a good add on to those blasters with the more advanced engines. like big bore or stroker with porting and such....
it would help keep some of that heat in check..
i dont know if 2strokes are like 4strokes but i do know that on a 4stroke the head is were most of the heat is..

i would think you would need more than the head and jug, the bottom end holds the water pump, i think not sure though

awk08 thanks for actually answering a good question, i hate when these kids chime in without actually know what they're talking about. when you get that kit keep us informed. here in florida in the summer its so hot and i thought the kit might help with the temp.

I see a few come up for sale here in canada, they can range from 1500-2000 in mint condition...for a complete, running bike.

yes you have to have the entire engine. some of the necessary passages and other things are absent on the blaster bottom end. i have been looking for years for a dt200 engine as they have also have a powervalve- from my research.

of coarse many will disagree but honestly the dt is nothing spectacular ,its still just a 70's port layout that needs updated ,sure theres some benefit over a stock jug the powervalve will aid in lowend -midrange snap (will do nothing for mid-peak output )and the water cooling may help keep the bore rounder longer and aid in possible detonation issues but all in all with the cost involved to do it you could easily make alot more power relibaly with a big bore/ stroker combo and be further ahead without hunting across the four corners of the universe for parts and all the fab headaches you could have
