any automotive mechanics in here??

if its an "interference engine" then yes, it will almost always bend the valves when the timing belt breaks

i'm not a kia tech but if its anything like fords 2.3 engine then if the belt brakes or the crank pulley comes loose then your in big trouble......

it is possible for it to happen... even heard a few horror stories about the pistons or rods when the timing belt broke but thats when they were hauling ass......

my mother in law bought a brand new kia in 2006, she has had to get a brand new one every 6 months for the last 4 years because they keep breaking on her, lucky for her it's still under warranty so she gets them replaced for free

My buddy bought a 95 jetta with low miles on it and was bragging that it would be more reliable than my gmc truck. A week into owning it the tranny started acting up and it turns out there is no dipstick to check fluid. You have to get it on a lift and I guess there is some sort of dipstick for it like a blaster would have on the crank cover I suppose. Ridic..
