So this is why having nerf bars and heel guards would come in handy..

Was out riding today.. hitting some jumps on my 660r...well got some good air came down right foot slipped off the peg...ran it over with the rear tire.. dislocated my ankle and knee..peg grinded in to my leg below the knee, causing internal bleeding in my leg.. after 20 x-rays and 3 hours in the er.. they said when i stod up it poped my ankle and knee back in to place..im hurrting badd right now.. soo offf to ebay to look for nerfbars.. or something to catch my foot if they slip off again!

I've said it before and I'll say it again.... Riding without nerf bars = pain
Glad your gonna be okay and it wasn't worse.
 
learned my lesson last may, almost ripped my whole foot off, saw my foot facing completely backwards, both leg bones broke, trapped on the bike for an hour, and a lifeflight helicopter landing right beside me just as the morphine kicked in, whew !!!!!

nerfs/heelgaurds and riding boots for life !!!!!!!!!
 
it just isn't nerfbar, the heel guards are what make a great difference.
and i am on board for pictures.
 
I saw a guy do that on his 400 ex with no nerfs or heel guards. Leg was sticking out sideways.

I always wear riding boots and have nerf bars. No heel guards on my 250r but my yfz had them.
 
Heel guards and riding boots are pretty much a must.

Nerfs are optional depending on the type of riding you do. I dont jump a lot, and I ride in a lot of alpine terrain, nerfs might get caught up on some of the sh*t I ride in. So I wont run them. I just bought some YFZ heelguards though and gonna work on getting them mounted up.

I usually do XC racing and I don't run nerf/heel guards but I should. I hear a lot of horror stories like these at the races and that's why I actually take a quad or bike with me to the shop when I go to get a new st of boots. I see how they sit on the pegs. Make sure they hook up good with the peg
 
Thanks guys! Yes the nerf bars and heel guards will be on order tommrow for both quads.. Anyway. i had to go back to the er, i just got back now. The swelling from the blood leaking in the the places arond my knee cap and under , was getting really bad it was baddd.. and topping it off with a dislocated/popped back in sprained ankle sucksss! anyway i got some pics :)

what else is a B**** is i had to drive my self to the ER park and WALK on the bad foot and leg to the ER and closest spot was like 6 rows back, thought i was gonna pass out.. the first visit they didnt give me a cast like this time (dumb) and crutches this time too.. they were more concerned about the bleeding the first time around. I damn near passed out from the pain on the walk.. I had a lady come to mee saying if i was allright, said no please get help...by god people came from every direction! lol anyway And in the pics i had them cut my jean legs off cause boy they were muddy i was messy when i went it LOLLOL

Dont look like much you'll see my toes and foot are purple ish.. but the big damage is on the inside!

I read that whole thread about that free swinger deal.. My theory is this... if someone offers a free swinger..,.AT least have one made..have the person ship there stock on and he ships the completed one.. with tracking numbers and all that..just my opinion on that.. but 5 months of waiting after the first 3 i woulda be on him like a fat booy on cake at a weight watchers meeting..
 
ouch, yeah, I run heel guards on my 450 no nerfs yet but to me it's VERY important to have heel guards, on my raptor i have nerfs that use the stock heel guards. I don't mind this style some good gripping pegs are also important.

but I wear tech 8s. I ran over my foot twice with my thor quadrant boots and didn't get hurt either time at all. one was on a jump, the other was when my kid rearended me full throttle, full speed on his 80 while I was at a complete stop.
