it has been raining everyday where i live, but i ride every day. i have the air lid off on my blaster and if i hit water or wash my bike it kills it, so i put my air lid on and it fixed that problem but my bike just don't have near the power it had with it off. is there anyway to modify my air lid where it will keep water out but run like it does when i have the lid off???? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

You dip the whole bike in the river? I've gone through rivers with the stock airbox and no lid without getting any water in it.
Don't forget to rejet after taking off the lid

You can get some of the power back with the lid on by dropping the main jet down 1 or 2.
But do plug chops if you mess with the jetting.

I dont do water so I would not be much help with the lid mod. Some one else may put you right on that.

you could drill a bunch of big holes in the lid. that will help keep some of the water out. i have never had a problem riding in wet weather with the lid off. do you oil your air filter? are you sure an electrical connection is not the problem when it gets wet? is the flywheel cover sealed well?

i dont use a lid and i cross rivers where the bike actually begins to bob due to the back wheels and ive never had the bike cut out from sucking water, you should oil your filter....

thats what im thinking... stator is getting wet mabe :-/

i have never oiled a filter what kind of oil do you use?

take your filter out..take the cage out of the filter. clean it really good with air filter cleaner. or gas or kero, but preferably air filter cleaner. let it dry thoroughly, a heat gun or hair dryer can speed this process up. after it is completely dry oil it with air filter oil. or a rub a light amount of 2 stroke oil on it, but preferably air filter oil. put the filter back onto the cage. bolt it back in making sure it is sitting in there right and sealed up good. you should do this after every long ride. it will make your quad run well and make the rings and topend last alot longer.
