what do you guys think about the pod filters that clamp onto the carb???
I dont ride sand or super dusty places.....

what do you guys think????

You want to run the airbox to help protect the air filter. When your racing in dirt with alot of other quads, alot of stuff gets kicked up (dirt, dust, rocks, mud). I've never seen an mx quad without an airbox on it. If you want to improve your airflow and get more performance out of your motor then buy an aluminum airbox

clamp on filters are really only good for sand or drag racing, Id stick with a foam filter I have a K&N and Im switching back to foam, because the K&N sucks dirt through. It will ruin your crank berrings and seals not to mention cause wear on your piston, rings, and cylinder walls heres a pic of my piston the redish brown isnt carbon its baked on dirt:(

what about if u make some type of snorkel that put the filter some where else, so its not getting hit with every thing thats comeing off the tire?..

i'm doing a mod to use a pod filter right now. i should be done by the end of the week and i'll right a DIY on it. it'll increase the air flow, eliminating the stock boot using PVC pipe, elbow connectors and a cylindrical/pod air filter.

I went to the Pod K&N with outerwears and it was a big change alot more air. and more air means more fuel. i had to go up 3 main jet sizes from a K&n with the air box.
