sorry i'm new to this forum and this may be a dumb question but.. i just bought a blaster and the previous owner cut out the airbox in the rear fender, the bike starts right up but has no intake boot or airbox, so it doesn't really have much power to it. is it possible to run an air filter right off of the carb? like say a pitbike has?

sure! I am no expert but I think Uni makes a clap on air filter, you just have to make sure to keep that filter extra clean.

thank you ! that is exactly what i have laying around, an old strap on uni air filter, i will make sure to stay out of mud and dirt for a bit and keep it clean, this will atleast give me a little fun time while the original intake is in the mail.

Like they said...a pod air filter will work as long as you stay out of the water.

That being said, you can buy an Outerwears for your pod filter and it will help A LOT with the dirt and dust. You still can't get in deep mud or water, but an Outerwears will keep your filter cleaner longer and it blocks sand well.

Also, since you're already missing the stock airbox assembly, I'd go ahead and order a new CFM airbox. Best $ 80.00 you'll spend, and it flows much better than the stock setup ever will. Since you have to cut out the stock airbox to make the CFM fit, you're already one step ahead! :D
