So after I do my heat cycles, am I to start plug chopping? I know I have to take it easy for a couple tank fills. I just want to get my jetting right. Right now I'm running a 330 main, 32.5 pilot, middle clip setting on needle. Runs good with air/fuel screw at 1 1/2 turns out. Pretty much what do I do after heat cycles. Thanks guys.

Set the idle as per specs.

Idle adjusting.
Set float level, make sure that all jets are clean and fuel flows freely from the float bowl drain when the screw is cracked open.
Start with air screw 1.5 turns out.
Set idle screw so that it has some sort of idle. With TORS it is the big screw under seat on top of unit. With no TORS is is the brass screw midway down carb body.
Warm up motor and then set idle screw for a faster idle, 2000rpm+
Adjust air screw either way to get the fastest idle.
Adjust air screw a little at a time leaving 10 secs or until the motor responds.
Re adjust idle screw for desired idle .

You stay under 3/4 throttle for 2 tanks of fuel to finalise ring break in.

By that you will never get on the main jet circuit, so if the main is too lean no damage will be done from a lean mixture.

Then plug chop.

So you want your air screw to have the fastest idle? Is that why you have idle high so you can tell when you make adjustments on air/fuel screw? Then adjust idle with idle screw.

Correct, turn up the idle screw for a fast idle.

Adjust the air screw either way a 1/4 of a turn at a time waiting at least 10 seconds for the engine to respond.

The idea is to get the fastest idle possible by adjusting the air screw.

Turn the idle screw back to get slow or desired idle.
