Ok soo i can't find any info on this anywhere.I was wondering if it would be safe to advance the timeing with the timeing mod that is on the site, and run my milled cylinder head it's -.030 ( still pump gas safe ) .I am going for a sleeper, soo i have stock exhaust, port and polish, milled head, boared stock carb ,air lid removed with uni air filter, polished piston crown, jetted, and polished combustion chamber.I figured i'd list the mods just to give you an idea.Any help at all would be appreciated , i just want to make it faster but i don't want to hurt performance, or blow it up.

yeah a timing advanced wont hurt anything... just do the 4 degree advance and you will be fine... i know ur going for a sleeper look and all but a good exhaust will really turn that thing on.

Yeah i'v been looking for a rusted not all cromed out good quality expansion chamber soo i can paint it the same color as the stock on and not feel soo bad and still not really be able to tell it's aftermarket, if that makes sence?I just cant seem to find anything under 120$ used and too me it makes more sence to buy a brand new wiesco pro light kit for that kind of money,so i'v really been tossing around the idea of a custom exhaust, if i can't buy one for a decent price. But what exhaust do you recomend i feel like fmf is better than a dg, but nowhere near a toomy's perfomance and sound. And what do you think about running a stock silencer on a aftermarket head pipe ?

I'l probally end up stealing a little of my dads 110 octane shhhhhh lol. But what do you mean gutt the expansion chamber, or silencer i already did that but my buddy who had it previously tossed the end cap which i wanted

a custom pipe will run you some money. but people have done the header with stock silencer, just some exhaust systems, you really cant do it, where they should hook up together isn't in the same spot.

I have an idea for the stock head pipe i seen on a yamaha enduro fourm geared towards 1970's yamaha enduro's , which as you guys know are very similar to the blaster engines. And what some of these guys do for aftermarket pipe performance with a stock look is cut the pipes in two, and put cones in it to make it actually work as an expansion chamber, and not a straight pipe.

Even a fmf would be good for you and they are usually pretty cheap. I know mine is less than 6 months old and has pitting and rust on it all ready......

i just bought a new pc2 silencer i would sell the whole thing for 200 bucks.

I doubt i would get that though.

i wouldnt do the timing advance with a milled head, lowering the spark plug in the combustion chamber by milling the head already advances spark to when the piston is lower in the cylinder, same as advancing the timing, so guys who are doing both are advancing it further than 4 degrees

Always run the lowest octane your motor can handle. Higher octane slows the burn front. People don't understand octane rating is detonation rating that is all. (R+M)/2)

+1

I had the 4 degree advance before I got my head milled and it ran great. After I installed the milled head I had a ton of detonation so i reversed the advance and all went away.

Yes very true. What you should do is index the plug the same distance the head was lowered. Also should run a cooler plug with increased compression if you are experiencing heat issues. Solve our detonation issues caused by heat.

Ok cool soo i'm glad i coulden't get my stator off, the whole inside looks like it had a ton of water in it and rusted everything to hell. And yeah that makes sence awk, + rep for haveing me not eventually detonate my engine. And i woulden't run 110 unless i really had too, but like i stated i milled the head -.030 thats 5 thousanths befor the cutt off for race gas only i'm not mistakein. So i'm sure runing 50/50 110 and 93 would bring it to about 100 octain which would deffinatly help keep the temps down.I don't see the it being bad, just a waist of money.
I remember when i was in hatfiel makoy ( or however you spell it ) trails on my ktm300, i was out of gas and took some of my dads 110 and mixed it up and went rideing for the rest of the day and man did it run worse than it ever did i went to wheelie over a puddle, and it fell flatt on it's face i was in bog city, it just diden't run good at all. Well now i know why mystery solved lol.
