hey all. i am going to look at a blaster tonight that has a bent frame. its a 91 and said it ran when he parked it. i am want to just tear it down and part it. not sure if there is good years and bad ones. not sure what years will interchange. any info would be great. thanks

The biggest differences between 88-02 and 03+ is the brakes and front plastic. The 03+ have full hydro brakes and the head light is solid mounted on the nose.
There are a few other smaller things, but those are the biggest.
Also the 88's have a different ball joint setup on the front arms/spindles.

Other than the 88-02 brakes usually not working I don't think there's anything special to check compared to any other quad.
Really depends on the parts. It seems the motors sell well now that everyone and his mother is building drag bikes, lol.
i part out raptors most of the time but wanting to get something new to play with. would be nice to mess with a 2 stroke.

well everything is fair game except for the suspension bits--they are generally undesireable. shouldnt have a prob selling off bits!
IF it's cheap, buy it and get it running, blaster are a F'n blast!! It really doesn't matter if the frame is bent, you could reinforce it or if it's really bad just get a new frame. There is one for sale near me for 100 bucks.
Keep in mind he must have abused it if it's got a bent frame but that doesn't mean that the motor isn't good. the motor could be fine. you may just need to reinforce it and replace soem bearings to have a good running quad. good luck!

If it's bent you could either buy a small pipe bender and make it an equal distance. Or if you wanna do it the cheapo way take a long aluminim or steel pipe and use leverage in bending it back(shrug ) but whatever your confortable with.
i will prob just strip it down. i have 400ex that i ride. im a little heavy for a blaster. i would have to do some upgrades to pull me. im about 210lbs. i really like parting them. not sure yet how much im going to get if for. any ideas on whats a decent deal for this quad.
it has nerfs, decent plastics (from the pic) said motor ran when he parked it but now it wont start. even if i had a price on what a none running motor sell for. im going tomorrow and look at it.
I'm 280 and a stock blaster pulled my fat ass around just fine. Granted it'll be faster with work. Wouldn't be good for mx though.
I would post pics to make sure the frame is bent. The bottom tubes have an odd bend from the factory and the guy I got my spare frame from thought it was bent.
Dont get it if it pulls your going to have to manhandle it a lot I had a supped up warrior I traded for the blaster I have now. It is not fun you can't sit there one hand and enjoy your self. Shure the warrior was fast but it wasent that fun cause it was so heavy and it pulled to the left so I said F*#!( it and got my blaster. Now I'm on top of the world with happieness and excitement when I ride now. If you want an informed opion go over take pictures tell him you'll think it over. Show us we'll tell you whats up and you can think it over dude. Easy peasy mac and cheesey
