96 blaster helps

Hi I have a 96 blaster just got it about a week or 2 ago and was out riding and all the sudden the back wheels locked up and won't turn so I pulled off the chain and the wheels rolled but the front sprocket turns about 7 times then will lock up and I have no clue what this could be!!! But when I get it to roll again all gears work fine but than same thing happens again over and over about every 5 mins any help would he greatly appreciated. Thanx

Sounds like you may have part of your piston skirt laying in the bottom of your case.

Yip! Or a loose shift star, bent fork, Too long of a drain plug if not stock or no washer, or something sloshing around in there, rear brakes locking up?

I would drain the bottom end, see what comes out, put fresh oil in it,
shift it in neutral spin the front sprocket if smooth operation, start in 1st and check operation of all gears. If lock up occurs, sound like time to tear it down!

I put fresh oil in today started in 1st went threw all gears for about 10 min than same thing happend again? So I stop and found out if I rolled it backwards about 3 feet it would roll again for about 5 more kin to get it back to garage and also put in new axle barrings

Also has no rear brake caliper thanx for any help I'm so lost lol

Sounds like ya gotta split the cases!, but if your lost youve come to the right place for help thats for sure

How hard of a job is this and would u recommend taking it somewhere? If so how much do u think a shop would charge me
