hello i am new to this forum i purchased a 1995 yamaha blaster that had recently been rebuilt for 600 when i purchased the atv it did not run i thought it had faulty wiring. after inspecting the wiring it was a hack job and a half after finding a loose conector from the stator the atv fired up sounded good so i figured i had fixed the problem. the next day after putting every thing back together the atv would not fire up so i found out the little crapy conectors coming from the stator were the culprit i once again put them back together and the atv fired up. after that i turned the atv off and it would not fire up again. so i became fruststrated with the wiring so removed the tors took out the crapy conecters and directly soldered the wiring except by the cdi so that i can remove it but still it will no provide a spark. the plug has been changed i have fuel in the cylinder so it has to be a spark issue. my multi meter has grown legs and has went for a walk to wich i have no idea where it is so i have to go purchase another meter to test the stator and the coil also is there any way to test a cdi. what wire provides power to the cdi and wich wire provides a signal for when to spark. also what years will cdi's work from other blaster i found one for fairly cheap with a coil but it is from a 2005 some help would be much apprciated

thanks

jason

just for sh*ts and giggles, unplug the black wire with white tracer from the CDI unit. the tors switch, and throttle switch both read to that wire, and are both normally open switches. if you have the b/w wire grounded, it will prevent spark. this is esp. important when you've removed the TORS. also, CDI units from year one, until 2001 should work. i have two extras if you'd like to try one.

Maybe one of the soldered wires didnt take.

Just get a new wire harness on ebay for 20 bucks or so. Electrical is a nightmare when all the wires are messed up like that.
